ASEPA has chalked many successes and continues to play its pivotal role in Ghana’s democracy.

The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability-ASEPA
is one of the most vibrant Anti-Corruption Civil Societies in Ghana.
Our key focus is centered around Public Accountability, Civil Advocacy, Human Rights,Environmental Conservation and Research.
The research wing of ASEPA is called the Center for Political Research and Advocacy which focuses on Government and Economic Policy Research, Political Surveys and Advocacy.

What has been missing in most African Countries is a fearless Civil Society Organization ready to speak truth to power and go the extra mile to unearth corruption, human rights violations, social injustices and abuse of power.

ASEPA which started as a Pressure Group in 2016 and grew into a full scale Civil Society Organization has made a lot of impact in the Ghanaian Political Dispensation.

A number of its programs includes its famous Assets Declaration Campaign that pushed a lot of Government Officials who have not declared their Assets in accordance with the laws of Ghana to rush to declare after it filed several petitions against high ranking public officials including members of the judiciary.

ASEPA has chalked many successes and continue to play its pivotal role in Ghana’s democracy.

ASEPA was the first CSO to launch a campaign against the mining of bauxite in Ghana’s Atiwa forest in 2017 when Government announced its plans to mortgage the bauxite deposit for a $2billion Chinese Loan.

The campaign was dubbed, “Save Atiwa Campaign” which later attracted other local organizations to embark on similar campaigns to kick against same.

ASEPA was also key in the campaign against the new voters register in 2020, mounting several campaigns against the Electoral Commission of Ghana and going to Court to file an amicus curiae with IMANI Africa and other CSOs.

ASEPA has also conducted a number of researches and has made publications of findings in national dailies.

ASEPA is looking forward to expand its Public Accountability and Advocacy roles into neighboring African Countries to help improve transparency in African Governments across the Continent and also to promote issues of Human Rights on the Continent.

What has been missing in most African Countries is a fearless Civil Society Organization ready to speak truth to power and go the extra mile to unearth corruption, human rights violations, social injustices and abuse of power.

We happy to be the Civil Society Organization playing that critical role in Ghana and we hope that we can extent a helping hand to other Countries who needs such vocal lenses to survive under partial or full dictatorship regimes.

Walk with us as we journey to make the continent a better place.
